Common causes include fatty liver disease linked to weight, diabetes and cholesterol, alcohol, medications, viral hepatitis, gallstones and autoimmune or inherited liver conditions.
What happens at your appointment
Dr Karunakaran will review your history and arrange a liver screen of blood tests, an ultrasound scan and, where appropriate, a liver stiffness (fibrosis) assessment. You will receive a clear explanation and a plan to protect your liver health.
