Dr Thines Karunakaran is a Consultant Gastroenterologist working in Colchester. Training
Grew up in Colchester and attended Colchester Royal Grammar School, then graduated from Barts and The London Medical School. He completed foundation training in the West Midlands, followed by Acute Care Common Stem (ACCS) training in Chelmsford with a focus on acute medicine, anaesthesia and critical care. During this time he developed an interest in gastroenterology and pursued training in the East of England gastroenterology training programme. Here he developed an interest in advanced and therapeutic endoscopy, and went on to complete specialist training in gastroenterology and general (internal) medicine.
